Enjoy an early breakfast and check out of your Cairo hotel. Our representative will meet you for your transfer to Cairo Airport to catch your domestic flight to Luxor. Upon arrival at Luxor Airport, you will be met and transferred directly to begin your exploration of ancient Thebes, starting with the West Bank. Your magical tour begins at the Valley of the Kings, the royal necropolis where pharaohs of the New Kingdom were buried in hidden, elaborately decorated tombs. Your visit includes entrance into the famous tomb of King Tutankhamun. Continue to the stunning Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, a unique terraced temple carved directly into the cliff face, dedicated to Egypt's most famous female pharaoh. On your way back, pause for photos at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that once guarded his mortuary temple. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Luxor.

Discover the mythical connection to the falcon-headed god Horus and his revenge against Seth.
Continue your drive to Kom Ombo. Here, you'll visit the unique Temple of Kom Ombo, perched dramatically overlooking the Nile. This temple is unusual because it features a dual design, dedicated to two deities: the crocodile god Sobek (god of fertility) and the falcon-headed god Haroeris (Horus the Elder). Explore its symmetrical halls and sanctuaries and see the ancient Nilometer. Afterwards, continue the drive to Aswan. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, discover Aswan's modern and ancient marvels. Visit the impressive High Dam, a vital 20th-century engineering project that controls the Nile's flow and generates electricity. You will be transferred by a private air-conditioned vehicle on the approximately 3-hour journey south to Abu Simbel. These magnificent rock-cut temples, built by the great Pharaoh Ramses II during the New Kingdom, are among Egypt's most spectacular sights. Marvel at the colossal seated statues of Ramses II guarding the entrance to the main temple, dedicated to the gods Amun, Ra-Horakhty, Ptah, and the deified Ramses himself. Visit the smaller, yet equally impressive, temple dedicated to his beloved queen Nefertari and the goddess Hathor. Learn about the incredible international effort to relocate these temples block by block to save them from the rising waters of Lake Nasser.

Afterwards, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, likely featuring fresh seafood.

Continue your exploration of Alexandria's Greco-Roman heritage with a visit to the well-preserved Roman Amphitheatre and its surrounding ruins. Next, see Pompey's Pillar, a towering granite column erected in honor of the Roman Emperor Diocletian, which stands amidst the ruins of the ancient Serapeum.
